Could art exist without viewers? Is viewing a passive act? If not, how is the viewer active in art? In this seminar, we are going to consider such questions while also thinking about the constituent elements of the theory of viewing by analyzing various contributions in the field of contemporary art philosophy. Thus, our main goal is to attempt to comprehend the function of the components of art including the viewer, the artist, and the work, and to determine the conditions of being a “good viewer.”
