Gülnihal Yıldız’s invitation brings together The Painter’s Table, a series of open-ended conversations with different painters. Rather than placing a concept onto painting, these gatherings aim to open up a space for thinking with painting. When does a painter’s relationship with material and surface turn into painting? How does painting continue—why does it sometimes stop, and at other times persist stubbornly?
Ressam Sofrası will take place at irregular intervals, revolving around production processes, motivations, intersections, blockages, and the various states of painting. In the first gathering, painter Gülnihal Yıldız hosts Toygun Özdemir.
